The Bougainvillea
From small specimen to tall landscape definers
A starter plant for those wanting to watch it grow. This young Bougainvillea spectabilis is hardy in the Mediterranean sun and will quickly take off in well-drained soil. Perfect for a small pot on a sunny balcony.
A compact size ideal for gifting or starting a low hedge. Grown in our coastal nursery, this Bougainvillea is acclimated to windy seaside conditions and intense heat.
This established plant often ships with vibrant bracts in summer. Trained on a small stake, it is ready to climb a trellis or adorn an archway, common in Spanish courtyards.
A bushy shrub with multiple branches that can be shaped into a small standard. This size is frequently used for instant colour in containers by the poolside, where reflected heat is no problem.
Ready to create a dramatic floral display. Our larger Bougainvilleas are grown slowly to develop a strong, woody base, and they explode into bloom after a dry winter rest, typical of Andalusia.
A statement plant for landmark entrances or large pergolas. This mature specimen has weathered Mediterranean summers and will deliver years of prolific flowering with minimal care.
A topiary standard trained as a single trunk with a rounded crown. Ideal for formal gardens, this bougainvillea is a masterpiece of nursery craft, thriving in the dry heat of the Spanish Levante.
The Bougainvillea
A vibrant, sun-loving evergreen climber prized for its profuse, long-lasting color display. The true flowers are small and white, but they are surrounded by large, papery bracts in shades of magenta, purple, red, or orange. Bougainvillea spectabilis is exceptionally drought-tolerant once established and thrives in hot, dry conditions, making it a low-maintenance choice for covering walls, pergolas, or fences, or for training as a striking shrub or standard. Regular pruning keeps it in shape and encourages heavy blooming from spring through autumn. For landscapers and garden centers, we supply a rotating selection of both nursery-grown and salvaged, mature specimens that offer instant architectural impact.
